Kajian ini membahas penerapan berbagai metode matematika dalam menentukan dimensi struktur bangunan sebagai komponen penting dalam perancangan teknik sipil. Metode yang dianalisis meliputi analisis statis, analisis elastisitas dan kekakuan, analisis dinamis, pemrograman linear untuk keperluan optimasi, serta penerapan faktor keamanan. Pendekatan teoritis digunakan dan diperkuat dengan contoh perhitungan dimensi kolom, balok, dan fondasi pada model bangunan sederhana.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setiap metode memiliki karakteristik, keunggulan, dan keterbatasan tersendiri; oleh karena itu, pemilihan metode yang tepat harus disesuaikan dengan kompleksitas struktur, kondisi pembebanan, dan tujuan perancangan. Analisis statis memberikan solusi sederhana untuk struktur yang tidak rumit, sementara metode elastisitas dan kekakuan lebih sesuai untuk sistem struktur yang kompleks. Analisis dinamis sangat penting bagi struktur yang menerima beban gempa atau beban akibat angin, sedangkan pemrograman linear memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap optimasi material dan biaya. Penerapan faktor keamanan juga merupakan unsur esensial dalam memastikan keandalan struktur pada kondisi ketidakpastian.
Kajian ini merekomendasikan penggunaan terintegrasi dari berbagai metode matematika yang saling melengkapi serta pemanfaatan perangkat lunak analisis struktur untuk meningkatkan ketelitian desain. Temuan ini menegaskan kembali pentingnya pendekatan matematika yang komprehensif dalam menghasilkan struktur bangunan yang aman, efisien, dan ekonomis.
