Abstract

Gamaliel K. Jarek & Juandana Kawuladini Putra. 2026. Engineering Communication in Construction. Lecturers of the Civil Engineering Study Program¹ and Informatics Engineering Study Program², Faculty of Engineering, Doktor Nugroho University of Magetan.

Engineering communication is a key element in the success of construction projects that involve multiple disciplines and stakeholders. Technical drawings, specifications, contract documents, and other communication media function as the primary means for conveying design concepts, technical instructions, and implementation control. This article aims to examine the role of engineering communication in construction projects, identify common problems arising from ineffective communication, and analyze strategies for improving the quality of technical communication. The study employs a literature review and conceptual analysis of communication practices in construction projects. The results indicate that structured, standardized, and cross-disciplinary coordinated engineering communication contributes significantly to improving construction quality, efficiency, and safety
